What you need to drive with Wheee.
A quick checklist to get approved — plus how to get your P endorsement if you don't have one yet.
Personal requirements
Valid NZ driver licenceFull licence held for at least 2 years
P endorsementRequired for carrying paying passengers in NZ
SmartphoneAn Android smartphone to run the Wheee driver app
NZ bank accountFor receiving your weekly earnings
Email addressFor account communication
NZ postal addressFor official correspondence
Getting your P endorsement
If you don't have a P endorsement yet, here's what you need:
- Hold a full NZ driver licence for at least 2 years
- Pass a police background check
- Pass a medical examination
- Complete an approved P endorsement course
- Pass a practical driving test
The endorsement is valid for 5 years and must be renewed. Learn more at NZTA.govt.nz
