Driver FAQs

Driving with Wheee, answered.

Common questions about earnings, payouts, cancellations and getting started.

How do I see what I'll earn for a ride?
Every ride request shows you the fare upfront before you accept. You'll see the pickup location, destination, distance, and exactly what you'll earn. Only accept rides that work for you.
What fees does Wheee charge?
You keep 90% of every fare. The fare you see when accepting a ride is what you'll earn after our 10% platform fee.
When do I get paid?
Earnings are deposited weekly to your nominated NZ bank account. You can track your earnings in real-time through the driver app.
Can I decline rides?
Yes, absolutely. You're free to accept or decline any ride request. Declining rides doesn't penalise you — we want you to choose trips that work for your schedule and finances.
What happens if a rider doesn't show up?
If you arrive at the pickup and the rider doesn't appear within 5 minutes (after attempting to contact them), you can mark them as a no-show. The rider will be charged a no-show fee, and you'll receive a portion of it for your time.
What if I need to cancel after accepting a ride?
Life happens. You can cancel an accepted ride through the app. However, frequent cancellations may affect your standing on the platform. If you have an emergency, contact support and we'll note it on your account.
How do I upload my documents?
During signup, you'll be prompted to upload photos of your licence, P endorsement, vehicle documents, and other requirements. Make sure photos are clear and all text is readable.
How busy is Wheee?
We're growing! As a new service in Wellington, ride volumes are building. We're focused on creating a sustainable platform with fair fares that attract both riders and drivers. Early drivers help us build the community.
How do I contact support?
