This Privacy Policy explains how Akhil Sabu trading as Wheee (NZBN: 9429052914478), operating as "Wheee", handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ).
1. Information We Collect
You Provide: Name, email, phone, payment details, driver documents (licence, P endorsement, vehicle details).
Automatically: Location data, device info, usage data, log data.
Crash reports & diagnostics: If something goes wrong on our website, we automatically collect a technical error report — the error message, the code location, the page path, and your browser type — so we can diagnose and fix it. These reports are scrubbed of personal information before they're stored: no addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, IP addresses, or payment details are included.
Third Parties: Payment confirmations (Stripe), background checks (with consent).
2. How We Use Information
To provide and improve the Service, process bookings and payments, verify drivers, send notifications, respond to enquiries, ensure safety, prevent fraud, and comply with laws.
3. Information Sharing
With Users: Riders see driver details; drivers see pickup/destination and rider name.
Service Providers: Stripe (payments), Google Maps (navigation), cloud hosting, analytics.
Cookies & Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how our site is used — pages viewed, approximate location, and device type. It sets cookies and shares this usage data with Google, handled under Google's privacy terms. On our marketing pages only — never on the booking or login screens — we also use a Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how well our Facebook and Instagram ads perform (for example, whether an ad click led to a visit), which shares limited page-visit data with Meta under Meta's privacy terms. Because the pixel is never loaded while you book a ride, your pickup address and trip details are never shared with Meta. We don't sell your personal information. You can opt out via your browser's cookie or tracking settings (or Google's opt-out add-on), and the site works fine without any of them.
Legal: When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
4. Data Retention
We retain data while your account is active and as required by law. Ride and transaction records kept for 7 years for tax purposes.
5. Security
We use encryption, secure storage, access controls, and regular security assessments. No system is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
