## How It Works (For Riders)

1. **Schedule your ride**: Open the app, enter pickup and destination, select a time at least 45 minutes ahead
2. **See your fare upfront**: The fare is calculated automatically based on distance and estimated time. No hidden charges.
3. **Get matched**: A nearby driver is matched to your ride. You see their name, photo, vehicle, and rating.
4. **Track and ride**: Track your driver live, share your trip with someone, and ride with confidence. Payment is processed automatically.

## Pricing

Fares are calculated using this formula:

- **Base fare**: $2.50 NZD
- **Per kilometre**: $1.50 NZD
- **Per minute**: $0.42 NZD
- **Minimum fare**: $8.00 NZD
- **Service fee**: $2.00 NZD per ride

- Newtown to Wellington CBD: $10-$14 (~3km, 8-12 min)
- Karori to Wellington CBD: $16-$22 (~6.5km, 10-15 min)
- Wellington CBD to Johnsonville: $22-$30 (~11km, 12-20 min)
- Lower Hutt to Wellington CBD: $32-$44 (~17km, 15-25 min)
- Karori to Wellington CBD: $12-$16 (~5km, 10-15 min)

### Additional Charges

- Wait time (after 3 min free): $0.50/min
- Cancellation fee (under 2 hours notice): $5-$10
- No-show fee: $8.00

### No Surge Pricing

Wheee does not use surge pricing. The fare stays consistent regardless of demand, time of day, weather, or events.

### Driver FAQs

**How do I see what I'll earn?**
Every ride request shows the fare upfront. You see pickup, destination, distance, and exactly what you'll earn before accepting.

**What fees does Wheee charge?**
You keep 90% of every fare. The 10% platform fee is deducted automatically.

**When do I get paid?**
Weekly deposits to your nominated NZ bank account. Track earnings in real-time via the app.

**Can I decline rides?**
Yes. Declining rides does not penalise you.

**What about no-shows?**
If a rider doesn't appear within 5 minutes, mark them as no-show. They're charged a fee and you receive a portion.

## Cancellation Policy

- More than 2 hours before pickup: No fee

- Driver cancels: No charge to rider

## Refund Policy

Full refunds when: driver cancels, driver no-show (15+ min), technical failure, or cancel 2+ hours ahead.
Partial refunds: Case-by-case for route deviations, service issues, or overcharges.
Request within 7 days via app or email. Processed in 5-10 business days.

## Safety & Community Guidelines

- No harassment, discrimination, or unsafe behaviour
- Drivers must follow traffic laws and never drive impaired
- Riders must wear seatbelts and not distract drivers
- No illegal items, open alcohol, smoking, or vaping
- Report concerns via the app or email hello@wheee.co.nz
- Emergencies: Call 111 first

Wheee operates under the NZ Privacy Act 2020. Data collected includes personal details, location data, payment info, and device info. Data is processed by Stripe for payments and Google Maps for navigation. Ride records kept 7 years for tax purposes. Users can access, correct, or delete their data.
